pleased to offer these professional development opportunities for
trainers/instructors.
The Teaching the
Art of Training, Module1: Delivery Skills class is suited for those at
the beginning of their trainer careers; the Teaching the Art of Training,
Module2: Design Skills is geared towards those trainers with some
experience who want to expand their knowledge and skills.
Completion of both
training modules satisfies the adult education standard for
ECSATA’s Trainer Credential.
Class Descriptions:
Teaching the Art of Training,
Module 1: Delivery Skills
This training course is
designed to provide new or emerging trainers with the basic skills needed to
provide training to adults. Upon completion, participants will be well
equipped to deliver pre-designed training curriculums. The course will help
participants identify and explain the concepts and components of a training
experience; articulate and implement effective adult learning strategies;
describe the competencies necessary for being effective trainers; use
various facilitation techniques and methods when delivering training; know a
variety of communication techniques that encourage learning; effectively use
audio-visual techniques; and identify their personal areas for strength and
development.
Teaching the Art of Training, Module
2: Design Skills
This training is intended
for trainers who have experience training, but limited experience designing
content-based training curriculums. Upon completion, participants will be
well equipped to: explain the theory of adult learning and the elements of
a training design; identify their own learning styles and understand the
impact of those preferences on training design; assess learner needs and
develop appropriate learning objectives; use a wide variety of techniques,
methods, and strategies to meet training objectives; design effective
trainings using knowledge of the learning cycle and various levels of
design; and apply elements of training to a specific topic to begin a design
for future use.
